Hurricane Marsh Wholesale Territory Protection Policy

Our territory protection guidelines exist to protect and support retail partners who are committed to Hurricane Marsh, actively invested in carrying our brand, and focused on building a long-term relationship with us.

Territory Protection Requirements

To qualify for territory protection, a retailer must meet the following requirements:

Brick & Mortar Storefront
Retailer must operate a traditional brick & mortar storefront with a dedicated retail sales floor. Priority will be given to storefronts larger than 1,000 square feet with a strong focus on men’s apparel, outdoor lifestyle, hunting, fishing, or sporting goods.
Territory Protection / Trade Area
Territory protection may be considered for qualifying brick & mortar retailers upon request. Because every market is different, approved territory protection is determined on a case-by-case basis and is based on factors such as town size, population, retail density, customer base, store type, order volume, product assortment, and continued support of the Hurricane Marsh brand. Territory protection is not based on a guaranteed mileage radius and may be modified at any time at the discretion of Hurricane Marsh.
Ongoing Order Requirement
To maintain territory protection, the retailer must order a minimum of $5,000 per year.
Brand Commitment
Territory protection is dependent on the amount of Hurricane Marsh product carried in-store, the variety of styles offered, reorder activity, and the retailer’s overall commitment to representing the brand well.
Annual Review
Territory protection is subject to review at any time and may be revoked if the retailer does not meet the ongoing requirements, cancels purchase orders, fails to reorder, or does not maintain an active Hurricane Marsh presence in-store.

Stores That Do Not Qualify for Territory Protection

Retailers operating in spaces smaller than 1,000 square feet, booth-style locations, seasonal shops, online-only stores, pop-ups, or stores that do not have a strong focus on apparel may still be approved to carry Hurricane Marsh products. However, these accounts may not be eligible for territory protection.

These retailers may also lose the ability to carry Hurricane Marsh apparel if a qualifying brick & mortar retailer is approved within the protected trade area.

Trade Area Exceptions

Hurricane Marsh reserves the right to approve additional retail partners within or near an existing territory when:

The existing retailer does not meet territory protection requirements
The market size can support more than one retail partner
The store serves a different customer base or class of trade
The existing retailer has limited product assortment or low reorder activity
The new retailer offers a stronger long-term opportunity for brand growth

Big box retailers, national accounts, online sales, event sales, and special partnerships may be considered separate classes of trade and are not automatically subject to local territory protection policies.

Final Approval

All territory protection is granted at the sole discretion of Hurricane Marsh and may be modified or revoked at any time based on retailer performance, market conditions, order history, and brand alignment. At Hurricane Marsh, we value strong, long-term relationships with retail partners who are committed to growing with our brand. Because of that, territory protection may be offered upon request, but it is not automatically guaranteed. Our goal is to protect and support retail partners who are actively investing in Hurricane Marsh, while also allowing the brand room to grow in each market.
